Bad Luck Comes in Threes

So far since I have been in Provo I have been sick with a cold two weeks ago and been to the hospital with a possible burst cyst yesterday, I am thinking that this means I have bad luck in Provo. I have heard that bad luck comes in threes and this makes me worry because so far I have only had two, count it two, bad things happen to me and that means that one more thing is coming! So I have decided that because all of this bad luck has happened in Provo I need to get out. I am going to spend the extra long weekend in Rexburg with Mom and Melissa in hopes of counteracting the bad spell...

(I just remembered that I for the last four mornings I have been getting 5am texts from "Guts." Does that count as bad luck? Because if so then I have hit three and then my trip to Rexburg
can be for R&R instead of to break a curse...)

chocolate chip pumpkin cookies

so last night I made chocolate chip pumpkin cookies and they were so good, well at least I thought so! I added more chocolate chips and pumpkin and added less oil and cooked them for about 10 more minutes then it called for but they turned out wonderful!

Floral Design Again: Boutonnieres

So I went to floral design this week and the focus of the lab was boutonnieres. We made four different kinds: the rose, the carnation, the daisy, and the wildflower. They were so easy to make even for a perfectionist like me. You just take the beautiful long-stemmed rose and chop it into a very small-stemmed rose and the you wire it and wrap it, add the leaf and baby's breath and wrap it again, curl the stem and you are on your way to a beautiful rose boutonniere.

The Rose Boutonniere

The Carnation Boutonniere (aka the funeral boutonniere).
On this one we had to wire the leaf also which is a little tricky but it turned out beautifully.

Picture of all four types of boutonnieres, yep I'm going pro!

So in the past week I have taken three tests and written a paper but I still have one more test and paper to go before the weekend... will I make it? Right now that is debatable because I have no desire to write my English paper and it is due in 13 hours exactly. Must be in her hand by 8am or it is late. The pressure is on and the only way to make it go away is to start writing. (unspecified amount of time later.) Ya still havent started writing but now I am seriously thinking about starting... or maybe I will take a nap. Oh the difficulties of being me!

(Another unspecified amount of time later.)

So I have thought about what I am going to write my paper on and this is what I've got. The Wife of Bath's Tale as it compares to the Arthurian culture within Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. This should be good as I have read both of them and we talked about what was in them in class. Ya now that I have done all of this work I deserve a nap.

Night!

I am sick (but not in the British sense of the word)

I have felt this cold coming on for about the past week but have been doing everything in my power to fight it, drinking lots of water, taking vitamin C and a multi-vitamin and trying to get more sleep, but it seems that it didnt work because here I am on a Sunday morning sick in bed. There are definitely better ways to spend a Sunday... but then again sleeping all day can be good too.
