This is Milo. He has been with me over Christmas and his favorite place seems to be where ever my book or computer is. It makes it a little difficult to get anything done but at least he is sweet.

No Christmas Carols
Today at work I lost my voice. No Christmas carols for me for a few days. Sad. :(

First Snow
Today is the first real snow of the season!
After getting home all I want to do is curl up in my chair with a blanket, a book, and hot chocolate,
maybe light some candles for ambiance.
Good night!
Good night!

Just watched Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog...
Laughed and laughed and laughed.
Just what I needed tonight.
I can't believe that it has taken me so long to see it.
Loved the lines, "Oh, goodness, look at my wrist. I gotta go."
And the songs!!! They are amazing! So witty and amusing.
Love the laundry song!
Great one liners too.
"Just a few weeks away from a real audible connection."
"It's not a perfect metaphor."
"I remember it differently."
"Psych. I love it!"
Watching again... and I think I need the music.

TEE SHIRT BLANKET
I have finally finished my tee shirt blanket! I have been working on it on and off for years and with the proper motivation (and the right pair of scissors) I finished! I learned how to rag quilt about 4 years ago at a Relief Society meeting and made a lap quilt that I use quite often and realized how perfect it would be for a tee shirt blanket. It's just the right amount of comfy, relaxed, and display. Excited to have something to sit on at Madie's soccer games next year and pretty much anytime! Now I just have to decided what I want to do with my college shirts that have been sitting in a drawer for years.
Go Greenwave!!

My Fair Lady
Western Nevada Musical Theater Company presents...
I went with a friend to see the amazing performance of My Fair Lady. It was phenomenal!!! It made me think about all the musicals I watched as a child and why I loved them. Now I have to say that I hate the Henry Higgins/Eliza relationship even though there are times when I really love them individually. Now I really want to have a musical marathon!!!
New goals and Sausage, Lentil, and Kale Soup
Now that I am officially 28 years old I feel that I need improve on somethings and President Thomas Monson said "When performance is measured, performance improves. When
performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement
accelerates." So I'm going to use this platform to report my performance about some of the following goals.
1. Eat less processed foods.
2. Record more of my life and what I'm doing aka blogging and journaling.
3. Complete projects.
4. Read more.
Today I made Sausage, Lentil, and Kale Soup and paired it with sourdough cracked wheat toast and milk. I haven't cooked with kale before but tried a kale soup at a friend's house and thought it was tasty although a little odd to have so much leafy green in a soup. This soup was really good. I added some garlic to the onions and didn't cook the lentils as long as I probably should have but seeing that it was my first soup with kale and lentils I think it was a success and there is plenty of it leftover for lunches!

So I have been trying some new foods because I realized I eat the same 5-10 meals... So here are some that I have tried. (They almost never looked like the pictures but they tasted good!)
Tonight I made the following 5 Ingredient Bacon Asparagus Pasta and it was delicious! Since I don't use wine and didn't have any chicken broth I used a smidgen of Italian dressing to add flavor. I also used wheat spaghetti instead of linguini. Will be making this again!
One of the first ones that I tried was this weekend. Parmesan Crusted Zucchini Spears. It was the best zucchini I have ever had... Mom agreed! I guess I am learning to love fresh grated parmesan.
Last week I was craving something sweet but wanted to bake so I tried Cream Cheese Breakfast Pastry. I didn't have any apple pie filling so I used cherry. It was pretty tasty! If I made it again I would put in more cream cheese filling because that is my favorite part! I was a little sad that it was a bit soggy the next day.
Can't wait to see what I'll try next!

Washington!
Just got back from seeing the Washington Scotts!
I took a week off from work and traveled up to Yakima to see my amazing nephew and nieces and my sis and bro-in-law too. I had a wonderful time learning again what its like to wake up at 6am and was ready to go to bed by 8pm and that was with a nap in between! (I guess that's what happens when you share a room with a 6 year old!)
We played in the pool, feed ducks, listened to piano, played in the sandbox, killed wasps with water guns (thanks boys!), had girls pictures taken, and enjoyed each others company. Still recovering from so much fun!
Love you guys!!!

Today was crazy and when I got home from work all I wanted to do was go for a bike ride but then I realized the handle bars were too low. After pulling out my tool kit (thanks Mom and Dad!) I realized that my allen wrench wasn't going to work because unbeknown to me there are two different kinds (metric and american) and I only had american so this prompted a trip to Lowe's.
I am now the proud owner of a set of metric allen wrenches to go along with my american ones. My bike handles are now the right height but tomorrow I get to fix the tire... Yep its flat. Just my luck.
The trip to Lowe's also yielded a new addition to my apartment in the form of a new house plant! My other plants did not survive the winter in my apartment. According to them it was TOO cold. My new plant is a maidenhair fern. Come to find out it is the diva of all houseplants so it might not last very long. The funny thing is that I choose a small fern because I didn't want all the commitment of a larger fern; instead I choose a diva. Perfect end to my crazy day.

MIA
So I have been MIA the last year and a half after moving to Sparks then to Fallon and finally settling in Nevada's capital! aka CARSON CITY!
Things I like about Carson...
- My apartment
- Living so close to work (5 minutes!)
- Carson feels small town but has tons of shopping
- My job and the people I work with
- The extra time I have now that I'm not commuting
- Restaurants (REAL ONES!)
- Chance to read
- Being Bear Den Leader and my scouts
- Going home for lunch
These are just a few of my favorite things
